Snow Retention Solutions

Snow Retention Systems

When snow accumulations begin to melt, the result can be catastrophic as the blanket of snow avalanches off the roof dumping tons of snow onto anything in its path. It can damage landscape, gutters, adjacent roofs, vehicles and cause injury or death to passers-by. All of S-5!’s snow retention systems dramatically reduce these risks associated with rooftop avalanches while maintaining the clean lines of the roof.

STEP 1

Prep Surface

Before applying SnowGrip, it's crucial to thoroughly inspect and clean the roof surface. Any debris, dust, or loose materials should be removed to ensure optimal adhesion for the SnowGrip Base Coat application. Additionally, any repairs or surface preparation necessary to address structural issues or irregularities should be completed at this stage. Proper surface preparation sets the foundation for a successful snow retention system, ensuring that the coating adheres securely to the roof substrate.

STEP 2

2. Apply Base Coat

The next step involves applying the SnowGrip Base Coat, which serves as a durable adhesive layer. This coat provides stability and longevity to the snow retention system, anchoring it firmly to the roof surface. The base coat is carefully applied using specialized techniques to achieve uniform coverage and consistent thickness across the entire roof area. It acts as a bonding agent, facilitating the adhesion of the subsequent layers and enhancing the overall performance of the system.

STEP 3

3. Apply Snow Granules

Once the base coat has been applied and allowed to set, the specially selected aggregate is layered onto the surface. These snow granules are designed to enhance the grip of the roof surface on snow and ice, minimizing the risk of slippage or sliding. The granules are distributed evenly across the roof, ensuring comprehensive coverage and optimal snow retention capabilities. This layer further reinforces the system's ability to withstand the weight and pressure of accumulated snow, enhancing its effectiveness in preventing snow and ice buildup.

STEP 4

4. Quality Check

Throughout the application process, rigorous quality inspections are conducted to guarantee the reliability and performance of the snow retention system. These inspections involve assessing factors such as coating thickness, adhesion strength, and granule distribution to ensure compliance with stringent quality standards. Any discrepancies or deficiencies are promptly addressed to maintain the integrity of the system. By prioritizing quality control measures, SnowGrip ensures that its snow retention solution delivers consistent and long-lasting results, providing peace of mind for property owners in snow-prone regions.
